Kitchel Kicks Off Senate Campaign With Big Gathering On Danville Green

Over 250 people gathered on the Danville Green Monday evening to help Jane Kitchel officially kickoff her campaign for State Senate.  .Kitchel is running for the Caledonia Senate District seat.

Former Governor Philip H. Hoft spoke at the public barbecue event, as did Kitchel's mother former State Representative Catherine Beattie, and former Caledonia State Senator and current chairman of the Vermont State Democratic Party, Scudder Parker.  

Kitchel told the gathering she looks forward to a vigorous campaign, and promised to work hard on behalf of the voters, to study the, issues, to engage in thoughtful deliberations, and “to make the best decisions I humanly can for this district and our wonderful state."

Kitchel retired as Secretary of the Vermont Agency of Human Services last year, capping a 35-year career in public service. She lives in Danville with her family.
