Fortunate to be Represented by Jane Kitchel

September 24, 2010

I have served in the Vermont Senate for the past 26 years. Over this period of time, I have had the opportunity to observe the work and effectiveness of many individuals who have been elected to the Senate.

It is without hesitation that I say to the voters of Caledonia/Orange District, you are truly fortunate to be represented by Jane Kitchel. She is one of the hardest working Senators I have known. Her opinions are valued and her ability to work well with both Senate and House colleagues is greatly admired. Senator Kitchel cares deeply about her constituents and I personally know that she has done some remarkable things on their behalf.

This past Session, Senator Kitchel was able to get a major piece of legislation passed in an effort to preserve jobs at a major St. Johnsbury employer. Her success with this legislation is a testament to her skills in the Legislative arena. While there is often a lot of political rhetoric during election time, I can tell you that Jane Kitchel is about results – not rhetoric.

For the past four years, Senator Kitchel has served on the Transportation Committee which I have chaired for many years. I have worked closely with her and she has been a key member of my committee. I trust her judgment and common sense, I respect her work ethic, and I admire her willingness to go the extra mile to get things done.

I encourage voters of Caledonia/Orange District to return Senate Kitchel to the Vermont Senate where her experience, integrity and focus on results are very much needed.
