Kitchel Gets Things Done

Tuesday October 24, 2006

To the Editor:

I will vote to re-elect Jane Kitchel to represent my district in November. The most important reason for my support is that she is highly qualified and very effective. The problems in New Orleans after hurricane Katrina show that government service is not a frivolous little game for those on an ego trip. Too much is at stake.

Senator Kitchel was a dedicated public servant long before she ran for elected office. She worked her way up through the ranks of state government to become Secretary of the Agency of Human Services. In that important position, she gained great respect and earned a reputation for integrity, hard work and dedication. She is compassionate and yet sensible.

When I had a problem with the bureaucracy, Senator Kitchel was among those who helped. She didn't know if I was a Democrat or a Republican. All she cared about was that I was a constituent with a legitimate problem.

Instead of noisy rhetoric, Senator Kitchel gets things done with quiet, competent, persuasion. She knows who to call and how to get things done.

I learned that in Montpelier, being right on an issue is not enough to prevail. We need someone on our side that is well respected, highly qualified and influential.
That person is Senator Kitchel.
